Laura approaches sculpture through a language that operates as a continuous mechanism, as a surface that has grown over different layers and forms. She mainly uses aluminum or cardboard, materials that are not heavy and are highly ductile, which enable her to make an operation of scale. Through this gesture, she reduces the scale of common objects, artifacts and structures, developing a system of attention to the material and the form. This operation has also allowed her to understand how repetition affects her practice. By working with reduced scales, it is easier to extend an element multiple times, and also to understand how it operates. There are a certain number of structural components in her work: screws, plates or brackets, which are present in all her pieces and that are part of a language that is constantly in evidence.
